What are A schools in the Navy? Are they hard to get into?
My grandson is waiting to get in A school in the Navy..The Seabees. he has not gone to boot camp yet and wants to wait to get into Heavy Equipment..He already went to a school for that training for 3 months.
Once he goes to meet with the recruiter and heads to meps to sign up…that will be when he will find out what job he will be doing in the Navy. That decision is based in part on what he qualifies for, and what is available at that time. If he qualifies for Equipment Operator, and it is available, he will be able to sign up and have that A school guaranteed.

It’s just the name for technical school in the navy. It’s backed up at times like now due to having lots of students that came in for the summer time etc.
