Please Help, I don’t know what to do?
Posted on Feb 18, 2010 under Heavy Equipment Learning | 2 CommentsAbout myself:
I am a 15 year old boy who weighs 60kg, stands about 170cm (just a guess) and has a small build with some tone but very little strength for my age.
Goals:
I want to;
1) Learn Muay Thai Kickboxing or MMA for; self defence, fitness, etc. (which ever one is better.)
2) Improve/gain; strength, tone, muscle mass, weight, fitness, etc.
The story:
I have just recently started Mixed Martial Arts on Tuesdays and Thursdays to see if I like it. These lessons consist of mainly cardio, core strength, body conditioning, and self weight exercises such as push-ups, squats, etc.
Options:
1) I can go to the local gym for $30 a month with unlimited access to all gym equipment from 3:30pm - 5:30pm (great for building muscle tone, strength etc.)
2) I have the choice of going to Boxing on the following days (depending on how I’m feeling): Monday, Wednesday, Thursday for $6 a lesson after a $50 yearly membership fee is paid. (great for fitness [mainly cardio and self weight exercises such as push ups etc.])
3) Mixed Martial Arts or Muay Thai Kickboxing on Tuesdays and Thursdays at this place (20 minute drive from where I live)
http://www.gladstonemartialarts.com.au
4) Workout at home with one of these workout plans
http://www.scoobysworkshop.com/
5) Do a small workout plan I have made up on Mondays, Wednesday and Friday to help build muscle strength, fitness, etc. (I have just chosen a few exercises from the above website, added exercises I know, and included equipment I own such as ‘The Perfect Push up,’ speed ball, heavy bag, skipping rope, etc.)
6) Do 2 of the above options (please list which ones)
Overall Question:
In your opinion, what do you think would be the best/most efficient/quickest way for me to achieve those goals by following those options?
(My opinion is to do both MMA on Tuesdays and Thursdays and my home workout plan on Monday, Wednesday and Friday)
–Thanks heaps in advance–
Please no stupid answers like ‘do what you think is right’ (I don’t know what’s right that’s why I’m asking.)
A combination of weights workouts either at your gym or home and the mixed martial arts. If you just did the martial arts you will gain speed and flexibility but not much strength or muscle mass, and if you just pump iron, you will gain muscle mass and strength but without stretching and flexibility exercises you will become muscle-bound

Top Tips in Choosing Your Golf Clubs
Posted on Feb 17, 2010 under Heavy Equipment Learning | 5 Comments
Grupo Mayan golf courses can be considered to be one of the best in the world. There are a lot of greens that you can choose from, not to mention the state-of-the-art facilities that they are using. You can also get to see the majestic views that make Grupo Mayan nation one of the frequently visited countries.
However, you cannot definitely play your favorite hobby if you do not have any golf club. Now there are a lot of them available, but not all will be fitting for you. If you happen to land the wrong kind, then expect your game to end up in total disaster. Just to make sure that you can turn yourself into a pro as quickly as possible, here are some tips you can use when picking your golf clubs:
1. Know your skills. Fortunately, there are wide varieties of Grupo Mayan golf clubs. Some are ideal for the professionals or veterans, while there are also others that are more suitable to the beginners. You have to know which category you belong and match your golf club based on your ability. Of course, when you are using golf clubs for beginners and you are playing in a professional field, you will lose the motivation in challenging yourself to do better. On the other hand, the learning curve becomes a lot steeper if the golf club you have chosen does not really fit your novice skills.
2. Make sure that the golf club has been fitted to you. Fitted golf clubs can be pretty expensive; but it definitely matches your statistics, such as your height, weight, and golf swing. Moreover, it will be a lot easier to grip, so you do not end up throwing the golf club together with the ball.
3. Avoid buying golf clubs in sets. You may be tempted to purchase golf club sets for yourself even if itâs not really necessary, especially if you are just beginning to learn. Ensure that you can concentrate on few irons as possible, and you should not move on to another one unless you are comfortable using the golf club that you currently have. If you think that you need a new kind and you donât have any, you can always rent from the Grupo Mayan golf course. They do have rental facilities.
4. Invest in your golf clubs. If youâre truly serious about playing golf, then you better invest in your equipment, especially when it comes to your golf clubs. Though it would be a great deal if you can purchase them from discount shops, you are never really assured of their quality. You would rather spend more dollars when you are confident of the performance of your golf clubs.
5. Try them before you buy. Before you finally purchase the golf clubs of your choice, test them first. You can make some few swings. Imagine yourself eventually using them in a Grupo Mayan golf course. How does it feel? Is it convenient to hold? Is it heavy?

Those are originally in italics.
This is about the second chapter, so it may be a little confusing. But bear with me ![]()
The car screeched around the corner, and Ayla froze at the crosswalk. Maybe they were drunk or high on something. Or maybe they were just running late, but whatever there excuse they didn’t see her. Her mind screamed at her to run, or just to do something, but here body couldn’t.
They weren’t stopping. They’re going to hit me, she realized. Ayla’s heart thudded in her chest, as the car sped closer, an incoming death.
Her whole body tingled, lightening shot through her. The Avalon raced toward her like an arrow. She squeezed her eyes shut, and braced herself. But the impact never came.
The scent of exhaust burned her nose, and caused Ayla to open her eyes. Startled to see the underside of a car, she jolted and sat up. Luckily the car drove forward as she did, saving her from a nasty bump on the head. That car… it was going to hit me… I should be dead. She thought over and over, seeing the image of the car racing towards her.
“Oh my gosh!” And a thudding of feet on the asphalt brought a person into her view. “Are you ok? Did you get hit? What happened? The young man was frantic.
Black fuzzed around her vision, and Ayla swayed.
“Somebody help! I think she was hit!” His voice sounded distant, then more rushing of feet.
She couldn’t concentrate. Everything lacked clarity, it felt like a dream. More bodies appeared in front of her. Concerned brown eyes stared into her silver ones. Their lips formed a question.
Ayla wanted to tell them that she was fine, just tired, But her head was heavy. And the world, it kept spinning. She was so dizzy.
She finally managed in a mumble “Just tired…,” before she let the blackness roll over her. A welcome sleep.
She was being cradled in someone’s arms. Panic and fear filled the atmosphere. Ayla felt small, and was wrapped in warm blankets. Voices cried out, but Ayla could not understand them. Crying rang in her ears. It took a moment before she realized it was her. Why am I crying? She was utterly confused, what’s going on? It was a dream, she realized. It had the feel, but still felt more vivid then her normal dreams. That could have been due to her extreme exhaustion, or perhaps it was a fever dream. .Usually her dreams didn’t make sense at all - things like riding the magic school bus to a desert house at the bottom of the ocean, and finding her fifth grade teacher as a zombie. This dream, though… it felt familiar in a way. Maybe it was based on a movie she’d seen.
Things around her were pure chaos. Things were exploding, and she was disturbed by the noises. The woman, who carried Ayla looked down at her burden, shushing her with friendly hazel eyes.
Kristy had to get Ayla out of the hospital before she broke something important. Plus, antiseptic smell was making her head hurt. Ayla laid restlessly twitching, and obviously not having a peaceful sleep. This was causing her to fly out of out of control. Due to Ayla’s dominant blood line, Kristy-also of strong blood- was struggling to keep her from braking hospital equipment-or people.
Then finally the nurse came bustling in, and Kristy stood up.
“I would like to take my daughter home now” She said, putting emphasize on the now.
The red headed nurse frowned, “I don’t think that would be wise. We’d like to wait until she wakes up to question her.”
“There is no concussion, no broken bones or bruises, not even a scratch to suggest she may have been hit by a car or anything else for that matter. Am I correct?”
“Well yes but-“
“Then I’d like to take her home,” Kristy interrupted, impatiently. Which was uncharacteristic for her, but the smell and effort of controlling Ayla along with her stress had drained any patience. She needed to get them both out of there before she herself fainted from Power Overexertion.
Sighing the nurse said she’d go fetch the doctor. As Kristy waited she drummed her fingers on the table, listened to the ticking of the clock and the sounds of Ayla moving on the bed.
She had small beads of sweat on her forehead when at long last the Doctor walked in. He tried as the nurse had-unsuccessfully- to convince Kristy to leave Ayla at the hospital. She promised she’d bring her back in at the smallest sign of a problem. The nurse wheeled a groggy Ayla out to the car, and together the two women hauled her in.
Ayla was still disoriented, so Kristy let her be. The drive home was long with the continuing battle over Ayla’s powers. She decided as soon as Ayla was well, she’d tell her what she was. Or at least what she needed to know
Sorry it cut off-
Or at least what she needed to know to find out for herself.

I do need to edit this
I liked it - your writing style held my attention, and it was definitely suspenseful. it’s nice that you’re getting into exciting stuff in the second chapter already, too (i rarely finish novels unless something big happens within the first few chapters!). sounds like a cool story

Why wasn’t South Korea recognized in their work in Iraq?
Posted on Jan 02, 2010 under Heavy Equipment Learning | 1 CommentWhy wasn’t South Korea recognized in their work in Iraq?
I was looking through videos of the war in Iraq on youtube and saw the title, "Korean Army in Iraq." I watched it because I had no idea South Korea was in Iraq. It turned out that South Korea deployed 3000+ soldiers there to bring peace and rebuild iraq while U.S. soldiers were fighting..same with Britain.
While watching the video, I saw that South Korea taught Iraqi civilians and did:
Material & equipment support
Joint Checkpoint constructions
Rifle range constructions
Build barracks
Forest Ranger station construction
Military team training (taught civilians to defend themselves)
Vocational training centers
Computer classes
Taught appliance maintinence
Vehicle construction
Heavy Equipment operation
paved roads
public health clinics
town halls
schools
sewers
deep wells
public parks
Hospitals
dentists
surgeries
Planted grasses, plants, etc
Soccer
Created childrens day (like a field day with band playing, games, etc)
and many more.
Yeah I know we (U.S.) did all the struggling work and all that, same with Britain but I never heard of South Korea in Iraq. All the time we hear U.S. soldiers in Iraq but why not Korea?
I think if the U.S. did some fighting back then and did what South Korea did, the war would have ended by now. I thought the whole point of the war was to bring peace and restore Iraq. It seems though as if South Korea did that to some parts of Iraq. I would like to see us do something like that.
Also, I just learned that South Korea had a big part in Vietnam too. What amazes me was that during the vietnam war, their kill ratio was 25:1 where a average American soldier was 9:1. But Korea was not recognized in their work in vietnam too.
They also fought in the gulf wars and they are currently in Afghanistan.
So the overall question is:
Why wasn’t South Korea recognized in their work during wars?
Why are they so little recognized when they played a huge part?
PLEASE no racial comments.
its whatever news that sells…and apparently, media does not deem this interesting enough or predicts that it would not generate the same amount of viewer/readership that some accidental shooting or an operation planned from bad intel would garner.
