Belma and Sangeeta meet another of Zene za Zenes (Women for Women part of Women for Women International who lend solely to women) clients. When we were told that we were going to meet a dress maker we were expecting to find a cottage industry maybe a room in the house with the dress making equipment in it, recalls Sangeeta. What Belma and Sangeeta find though is a not so little shop employing seven workers.

The dress makers were one of Zene za Zenes first clients, borrowing 5,000 Euros from the micro finance initiative, adds Sangeeta. What was clear from the visit is that this money is having a real impact its not just a case now of making a living to get through each day shes able to help her staff to get on their feet too.

I was a guy, about 18-20 years old . Kinda average looking, short, no extra weight but not thin. There was this campus that was part shopping mall, part university, part learning hospital. I was some kind of tech whiz (I’m not really) and kept using rollerblades to go wherever I needed to get to, carrying this backpack that had a laptop and some accessories in it. It was not heavy.

At one point, there was a trip to a home. In the loft apartment were some black and white paintings. Very nicely done, but they were black and white. Some were done by me, but one was not familiar at all and it interested me very much. It had a girl’s face on it, a face from a picture I saw on a story about a state representative not wanting to fund summer meals for kids. Even my dream character thought it was whack. When I went up to it to see what other stuff was in the painting (it was done in the fashion of a famous Obama painting, not much background detail at all), a guy and two gals came up to me and wanted my SD cards. I told them No way and looked for an escape. The escape suddenly appeared in the form of this water slide or luge (without water) looking thing that twisted down and out of the building, into a basement studio. I went down it and they didn’t. Don’t know why. There was a guy in the studio who was waiting for me to give him what I had on the SD cards. He was on my side. I asked him about foundations to help people like that girl and he told me I’d have to start one myself if that state representative gets her wish. (This is all a mish mash of things that doesn’t really fit together.) He liked the work, but expected the people to come after me for it and I was asking him why they won’t leave me alone and he said, Why do you think they won’t? Like I should know. I wasn’t sarcastic or upset acting in the dream. I was that kinda "sweet" pleasant acting person who people think is dumb or fake for not acting more aggressively about people picking at me. So I just didn’t respond and tried to figure out how to get to the learning hospital without those people accosting me and taking away my work equipment. Finally they started to come down the slide and I went out a door. One of the guys came up to me and started taunting me with his machete-like item, acting as though he’d get my backpack off with it or "accidentally" slice me. I kept going till I was in one of the rooms with the plastic anatomically correct body that breaks apart so you can examine it, the guy keeps making snide remarks about my background (what my dad and mom do for a living, for example) and then a surprise happens. He just stops being there. I’m left to hold the pieces of the anatomically correct body, examining, waiting for the guy to reappear and his friends to be with him. A woman comes in who is apparently my guy character’s really good friend and says she is breaking up coz those people will never leave me alone, and it is tiresome to always worry about sabotage, pranks, and possibly worse. I tell her to just go then while she is still talking and a professor comes in and says Anyone who is not a student needs to leave right now coz I’m not getting paid to babysit. :D I don’t remember doing anything in the shopping mall; it was just part of the campus with people coming in and out with shopping bags.

I’m 29, female, and you can get other info from my bioblock. :D

Get in the Ring!

One round of boxing stimulates all of the major muscle groups – delivering a total blast to the body that helps improve power, coordination, aerobic fitness (lengthier sessions with oxygen) to build endurance and stamina, and anaerobic fitness (shorter quick bursts of training without oxygen) to build power and speed. Indeed, boxing will whip you into the best shape of your life.

The great thing about boxing is that the skills you learn in the ring, or when going one-on-one with your heavy bag, will transfer into practical self-defense skills. After all, if you have the power and stamina to survive a round of sparing in the boxing ring; you have the skill to ward off an attacker in the real world.

A boxing workout is really quite simple, and you don’t need a ton of equipment to get a fantastic full body workout. All the equipment you’ll need is:

• A heavy bag

• A speed-ball

• 14-ounce boxing gloves

• A skipping rope

• A timer

• A medicine-ball (optional)

The greatest thing about boxing is that you can do it in the comfort of your own home – with a little space of course. Just clear a decent space in your apartment or basement – and find a good solid beam to hang your heavy bag from. That’s really all you’ll need. With the heavy bag you won’t need a sparring partner. Just put the gloves to your bag, and then follow your sparring with a 2 minute sweaty jump rope session. You may want to invest in a timer – and play some heavy music with a beat – trust me it will help you keep you’re skipping and punching rhythm.

If you’re new to boxing the best advice I can give you is to sign up for a few classes with a qualified instructor first. This will teach you the basic boxing moves:

• Jabs

• Straight rights

• Hooks

• The footwork

After you learn the basics, you can take your moves home. A 60 minute boxing session can burn up to 1,000 calories – which is more than a simple run will ever do. Better yet, it blends cardio with resistance training, and helps build your whole body by calling on the muscles in your shoulders, forearms, abdominals, hip flexors, obliques, quads, hamstrings, calves, upper back, triceps, biceps and lats. What you don’t believe me? You try holding up a pair of 14 ounce boxing gloves for 3 rounds! Trust me; you’ll feel the burn in your upper body.

Personally, the greatest thing that I find with boxing is that after a particularly stressful day at work it lets me take out all of my aggression on the bag!

Earlier, The Truth About Cars (TTAC) conducted a survey having its faithful and candid readers as respondents. The survey is all about tracking the Ten Worst Automobile Today (TWAT) from all the vehicles available in the United States within this year. The polls and tallying are closed. Further, the winners are yet to be unraveled. The winners of the 2006 TTAC Ten Worst Automobile Today awards are the following:

On the tenth place is Chevrolet Aveo. The automaker claims that said car is the lowest [new] car in America however; the contents of the vehicle may vary. In the United States and Canada, Aveo is available in both 5-door and 4-door models. Chevrolet Aveo sedan debuted in January this year at the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show. Lincoln Mark LT landed on the ninth place. According to TTAC’s voters, the car is an unholy degradation of the world-famous Lincoln Mark nomenclature. In addition, it is said that the Mark LT is a rolling testament to Dearborn’s short-term, suicidal reliance on bean-counted engineering.

Saab 9-7x entered in the eighth place of the TWAT. Voters say that the car is nothing more than a Chevy Trailblazer with the ignition key between the seats. Subaru B9 Tribeca, a crossover SUV, settled on the seventh place. Some enthusiasts are saying Subaru should not have bothered building an SUV.

On the sixth place is Chevrolet Monte Carlo, which is said to be a wrong wheel-drive engineering joke from the late ’80’s. Next on the line is the Hummer H2. The latter, according to some, is so heavy that IRS will give the purchaser a tax break because you just bought a piece of commercial farm equipment. They further added that it looks like a school bus from behind and a morbidly obese Cherokee from every other angle.

The fourth placer is Chrysler Aspen. Simon and Garfunkel said, “Every way you look at this you lose.” Some of the comments to this car are: It’s ugly. It’s thirsty. It’s slow. It’s badly built. It’s cramped. It’s expensive. Landing on the third place is Buick Rendezvous, which is based on a 1997 minivan.

Jeep Compass landed on the second place. Jeep auto parts that include round headlights and a 7-slot grill made Compass repulsive to TTAC enthusiasts.

Finally, the worst among the worst belong to General Motors. GM Minivans Talk emerged as the TTAC’s accolade as the worst vehicles currently for sale in America. Chevrolet Uplander, Pontiac SV6, Buick Terraza, and Relay that boasts its Saturn auto body parts fall short of pleasing aficionados.
