I saw this on the Fox Business Channel about some companies save money by hiring on a contract basis people to act as customer service agents taking reservations, product orders etc. from their homes. I'm thinking of doing the same thing from my home. I'm doing research for a business plan, financing, equipment etc. My question is what's the best way to reach potential customers when you're unable to be mobile.
I use http://www.westathome.com
I take inbound calls for large companies in a variety of markets.
It costs nothing to sign up, they take out taxes (even though you're considered an independant contractor) and even pay you for training.
I love it, been doing it for months.

I recently graduated college with a bachelor's degree in Computer information systems. However, I have decided that the office corporate world just isn't for me. Being confined in a building all day sounds like a miserable way to live.
Ever since I was little, I have loved construction equipment. I was never a girly girl, I loved my Tonka trucks and matchbox cars. I choose jeans and a sweatshirt over dressy clothes anyday. Even today, I still love driving by construction sites. I think it would actually be a fun job to either drive a dump truck all over the state (small state, NH) or to work in the dirt with an excavator, bull dozer, and any other Heavy Equipment!
I was wondering how one goes about entering this career path? Should I go get my CDL? How do you get training on these machines?
Where I live, to drive a truck as you describe takes a Commercial Driver's License, which like a auto license is granted by the state after a written and practical test. Look in the yellow pages for driving schools. There are schools in the state which teach driving all sorts of trucks, for a fee of course. However all they do is prepare you for taking the tests so you can pass and get a CDL. On private property, no license is needed for things like front end loaders, which you can pick up by on the job training, but there are also schools for construction equipment The schools all provide a certificate which means something in the world of driving things. Or as an alternative, look into the military. any construction battalion in the Army, Navy or National Guard would do and you kill two birds with one stone, get some training and not have to pay for it, and some patriotic duty. Check them all and see what they have to offer. Check out the driving schools in your area. Find out what they provide to assist with follow-on employment. You have your homework to do as far as research is concerned so you do not get caught up in a fly-by-night sham of a "school". Reputable established businesses will be able to provide you with numerous references.

If you have a good job and can support the basic minimums of survival, see what it takes for your husband to start as a worm. If he is young enough, he may excell!

NEW ORLEANS - Thieves hauled off $100,000 worth of Heavy Equipment that was being used to help build a Lower Ninth Ward memorial to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
A Bobcat excavator and a Bobcat T300 Skid Steer Loader, both of which require trailers or flatbed trucks to transport, were removed from the site sometime between midnight and 6:30 a.m. Saturday, construction company officials said.
In the neighborhood that remains nearly pitch black at night almost a year after the levees failed, the equipment didn't last three days at the site.
Can you really blame them???? Almost a year and no fucin homes put up and some assholes are tryin to build a memorial for the dead people (no disrespect) and sayin fuc the ones that are alive, I would have stole the equipment too. Why the hell are they even building a memorial in a town where anyone that its "SUPPOSED" to be for isnt even there to see it because they are out of a home and jobs, what the fucs the purpose????
Quoted from popkin "Really, in a city with no eelectricity, no running water, no food why do you need to steal 20 boxes of Nike shoes? I saw that on nattional tv last year. I would have been stealing food."
Simple answer because you have NOTHING, why steal food thats going to spoil unless you eat it in a few hours when you can steal 20 pairs of shoes and make 3 to 400 dollars and buy food as you need it

Well, if you DO steal, like these CRIMINALS did, I hope that you are caught, prosecuted and jailed for grand larceny, the same as these thieves should be. That will put you behind bars for a LONG time. Think about it.
Yea thats about the only way anyone from there is gonna get the government to help them have a home which is a fucin shame. Let it happen to your city and they take this long, youd be one pissy diapered fucer
I applaud the thieves!! It is not time to build 'monuments', rather it is time to rebuild a city.

We are an excavating company out of Wilmington NC and have 8 to 12 equipment operators available to come out to Texas or surrounding areas to help with the clean up from IKE. We prefer not to bring our equipment will rent if need to but would prefer to just send men.
From what I’ve heard plenty of help is already there.

A UCC-1 Financing Statement is a type of lien that secures a creditor. Many equipment lease companies use a UCC-1 that specifies a machine as collateral. If the debtor defaults on payment, the UCC-1 allows the equipment lease company to repossess the machine. It is typical for banks to use blanket UCC-1s to secure lines of credit, designating the debtors ets as collateral, and International Trade Finance utilizes the same.
